- Electoral Reform 2011 -

TheAdvocacy Training and Resource Center - ATRC and the Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development - KIPRED, in cooperation and coordination with the Commission on Electoral Reform, starting from July 18 are organizing informative meetings with citizens regarding the discussion about past elections in Kosovo and the need to reform the electoral system.

During this time 6 informative meetings were organized in six municipalities or regions of Kosovo, such as: Gjilan, Ferizaj, Peja, Gjakova, Prishtina and Mitrovica whereas the meeting in the region of Prizren will be organized during the following week.

In the organized and planned meetings, except members of the Electoral Reform Committee, were invited to participate also:

1. Representatives of political parties
2. Representative’s from the Municipal Election Commissions
3. Representatives of nongovernmental organizations
4. Representatives of local media
5. Experts and citizens

TheElectoral Reform Commission,as the leader in this process,and inpartnership with ATRC and KIPRED through informative meetings with interest groups in 7 major centers of Kosovo, will discuss electoral reform priorities in Kosovo, aiming that the discussions and recommendations from the meetings of will serve the Commission to enrich the document through their involvement in, or codification of the new electoral reform.
