CHILDREN IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

ATRC helps 60 elementary schools in Kosovo

Within the project "Children in Environmental Protection, Advocacy Training and Resource Center (ATRC) has distributed 60 grants to 60 elementary schools in 30 municipalities in Kosovo. Grant in the amount of $ 250, was aimed at awareness of children to environmental preservation, environmental protection or where they teach.

Within this project was planted seedlings, flowers, pine, then soil was turned into green gardens, placed seats for children, junk basket and many other activities. Projects are led by small groups of Ambassadors of the Environment, "who long ago were certified as such by this organization.

Muharrem Ahmetaj, director of the Elementary School "Idriz Seferi - Bob, Kaçanik estimates that the project was very welcome given the goal. "Although modest means, his importance has been special, because we have engaged students together with teachers in the activity; motivate pupils to take care, classes, schools, environment and so on." Mr. Ahmetaj considers another special project was the commitment of the American KFOR, who also joined the activity by encouraging students engaged and provided food and drink during this time.

Also, 100 miles from the village of Kacanik Bob, in the village of Podujevo Batlle, the project was welcomed. "This is a very good contribution to school and some significant, because besides the school got a beautiful view and clean, while students were significantly motivuan to maintain this environment in the future" - said Nazmi Hyseni, teachers in Elementary School Luigj Gurakuqi in the Podujevo Batlle.

The project for environmental protection will continue and is further supported by the U.S. Embassy in Pristina.
