KOSOVO CIVIL SOCIETY STRENGTHENING PROGRAM- K-CSSP

ATRC (Advocacy Training Resource Center) and CCSD Network (CCSD-Center for Civil Society Development– Mitrovica, CSD- Communication for Social Development – Gracanica and FWF- Future without Fear, in Sterpce) are announced local partners for implementing Program Local Advocacy Partner Grants within Kosovo Civil Society Strengthening Program (K-CSSP), implemented by the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The goal of K-CSSP is to ensure that Kosovo civil society is an effective and influential partner to government in public decision-making contributing to an inclusive and democratic Kosovo.

Throughout its implementation the program aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • A robust, diverse, and representative NGO sector is able to influence public policy and carry out advocacy campaigns that achieve results at the local and national levels.
  • The legal and regulatory framework allows NGOs to operate with maximum leeway and impact.
  • Kosovo Serb and other minority NGOs are able to represent and advocate for the interests of their constituents.
  • The civil society “infrastructure” is in place to support the sector over the long term.

The goal of this grant competition is the establishment of a local advocacy partner program that will enable Kosovo NGOs to lead diverse advocacy campaigns at a local level.

K-CSSP partners (ATRC, CCSD Network and ISC) will strategically distribute small sized grants to Local Advocacy Partners for advocacy initiatives, addressing a cross section of issues facing communities and the local government in Kosovo. It is expected that these organizations initiate advocacy activities that will involve a significant number of constituents for tackling issues of local significance and reaching the solution (not excluding national significance). There is going to be selected a diverse group of NGOs to receive Local Advocacy Partner grants based on specific, concrete local advocacy campaigns tackling high-priority issues facing Kosovo. Successful projects will articulate a clear plan for achieving concrete results; and will demonstrate a direct link to a clearly defined constituency. The activity will also generate projects covering a broad range of issues and organically develops new leadership in the sector, particularly outside the capital.
